Prof. Dr. Gert-Peter Brüggemann is more than just a household name to true running enthusiasts. For many decades, he was head of the Institute for Biomechanics and Orthopedics at the German Sports University Cologne. As an internationally recognized specialist in running motion and the development of state-of-the-art running shoes, he now has over 30 years of scientific consulting work for the giants of the industry under his belt.
Peter and his research have been largely responsible for numerous groundbreaking innovations in the running shoe industry over the past quarter of the century. His expertise and experience form the scientific foundation of True Motion – for runner-centered, functional innovation without marketing ifs and buts.
Due to our cooperation with the Institute for Functional Diagnostics (IFD Cologne), we have one of the most modern biomechanical laboratories in Europe at our disposal. For the kinematic and kinetic examinations of our running shoes, established procedures in research are used. These are, for example, 3D motion analysis – a MotionCapture system consisting of twelve infrared cameras and software with two synchronized force plates – electromyography, 3D whole-body scan, 3D foot scan and plantar pressure distribution measurement.
